COMPANY PROFILE

The sheep which we breed at Island Heritage can be traced back to Neolithic Man. They play an important role in a program of conservation initiated by The Rare Breeds Survival Trust. We chose the primitive group of sheep for their rich and varied natural colour and luster of their fleeces. We add the fleece of other Rare Breeders to our own. They are spun and woven to our specification by experienced spinners and weavers.

Each item is then hand tailored, crafted or knitted into our exclusive designs. We offer an eclectic mix of traditional and contemporary styles for adults from jackets, skirts and trousers to ties, hats, bags and rugs etc.

Using only the natural colour of these unique breeds each individual item is made with the excellence of care and skill which we are sure you will agree both you and our rare breeds deserve.

The sheep that we breed here on the farm are raised organically and we are planning a freezer room from which to sell organic lamb and beef. We hope in the future to produce organic wool products. The farm is also open to visitors (see price list page for opening times) and we have our farm shop and design centre on site.
